The Crocs were not shy to show they are keen to stay in the Super League next season after finishing on top against T-Team in Stadium Negeri tonight. Playing in front of a capacity crowd, the Crocs brought the crowd to their feet with good football, which some fans described as ‘tiki-taka’.

The absence of Gabor Gyepes, Mafry Balang and Ramesh Lai were not felt tonight with youngster Dzulazlan Ibrahim performing admirably thought the game. Sarawak came close to putting themselves in-front when Dzulazlan’s cross into the box almost caused T-Team to score an own goal, but defenders were quick to remove it out of danger.

The Crocs showered more attacks with S. Chanturu’s shot on goal pushed out minutes later, and Muamer Salibasic failing to convert a few clear chances. Muamer however gave the 28,000 crowd a reason to cheer soon after when he tapped in a nicely cut corner which came into the box to give the Crocs the deserved lead.

Sarawak tried to extend the lead as the game came to the breather through Joseph Kalang (photo), but his shot was straight to the arms of the T-Team goalkeeper. In the second half, Sarawak picked up where the left off with Chanturu, Ryan Griffth and Joseph menacing the defences of T-Team.

Sharol Saperi nearly tried to extend Sarawak’s lead, but his long range effort was easy for the goalkeeper. Nonetheless, local favourite Joseph killed off the game for T-Team when he used his magical touches to dribble past three defenders, before curling in a signature ‘JKT drive’ to put the Crocs 2-0 ahead in the game.

Another chance was left begging when the goalkeepr saved Ryan’s header which came from a beautiful Dzulazlan’s cross. With time fast closing up, Sarawak made two changes by putting in Ashri Chuchu for Joseph, and removing Dzulazlan for rookie Dzulfadzli A. Majerah.

The changes gave Sarawak one last chance at goal, but despite Chanturu’s effort being pushed out, the Crocs held tight until the final whistle to ensure the move closer to securing a safe spot for next season’s Super League.
